BIO

The artist’s research investigates the transmutation of matter through a practice that aims to take the viewer to a place where memory emerges slowly and intermittently; leaving unclear thoughts and feelings, which are born from fragments of books read and conversations heard.

Aspiring to a temporary nonplace, Trevisan looks for an undefined border enclosed between materiality and immateriality, as in a limbo of possibilities where everything flows and finds stillness.

The media used by the artist are painting and installation, which are also used as a tool for creative research, through the exploration of the relationship between matter and time, gesture and colour.

The relationship with matter is the generating force behind the thought, triggering the constant dialogue between eye and hand, tactile sensation and visual perception. This process triggers the thought that consequently develops into the alchemical and philosophical theories about void.

In contemplating Trevisan’s works, the viewer is guided to discover the depth of alchemic sublimation through a sort of bewilderment, whilst being led to find themselves in a dimension of nothingness and emptiness, within and outside the material.
