LA PLASTICITÀ DELL'INFORME

Plasticità dell’Informe is a study on draping, a key reference to elements of painting and sculpture in History of Art. In this series, Trevisan manipulates the matter with the aim of shaping it as a fabric. This is possible through an extreme use of the acrylic colour and the stratification technique, where coats of paints are layered on top of each other, in order to disengage colour from the technicality of its support.
In this instance, the colour becomes its own support, since the various layers of paint will deposit until becoming a strong and compact material ‘sheet’. This process contributes to the creation of an elaborate fabric, made of infiltrations and overlaps.
Colour is matter and it moves in the space independently, creating a draping in between painting and sculpture.
